I know, that's so true! But in a way that's exactly what I love about this idea -- a fun way to teach/practice delayed gratification. I expect you could do something similar for younger kids -- with a different storyline, yes, but still have them get the story in the mail, in a series. It's not all that different from having to wait for the new episode of a tv show you like, or listening to podcasts. Just a different (ok, really old-fashioned!) medium!
