::: The Blue Girl (de Lint)

Thought I was caught up with the books I've read this year, but when I double-checked my list I found this one. Not to my mind one of de Lint's best -- not bad, of course, I don't think he's capable of writing a bad book, just a little thin, perhaps because it's meant for a younger audience. The villains made me think of Dementors. Not sure where the idea came from that painting oneself blue protects one from evil. Perhaps that explains the Picts.

Now must get back to cleaning my desk and getting tax stuff together (yuk).
