Yes, it's very very odd. I can't figure it out and am hoping it's a temporary aberration. Myself, I could not care less what religion a person is. Quite frankly I'd be happier with an avowed atheist, since I assume they'd be relying on reason to make decisions rather than on some arbitrary mystical voice that might change its mind at any time!
