Love it love it love it! My well-thumbed and frequently bookmarked Norton Shakespeare (edited by the author of that article) occupies a permanent space in my sphere. Just goes to show: people have always been vulernable to a strong man.

I think it's worth noting, at the end of Richard III, the villain is killed offstage, and we never see his body. It's as if the entire play wants to forget what happened and sweep it under the rug. May our current Richard III end up the equivalent of forgotten underneath a Leicester car park.

When people talk about Richard III, I usually see people comparing Shakespeare's version of the character with the actual king and complaining about the character assassination. But this, damn, this is brilliant.

I find anime explains it best-here comes the manipulative government like in Samurai Flamenco or Neon Genesis Evangelion in some giant monster/mecha form that is even far worse than what we see. Now only if some teens with attitudes could should up to help out...
