Double play

Hillary Clinton lost and Leonard Cohen died. Saturday Night Live managed to combine acknowledgement of both in an unusually sober and remarkably beautiful opening to their show on Nov 12th. Lovely.

It looked like she was ready to cry at one point, and I lost it. Such a wistful opening.

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

I must say I agree with John Oliver about 2016 being the pits. The year in which so many cool people died and that man got elected.

I was so glad I was adequately warned by online friends before I finally took the plunge and watched this! My heart is breaking, mending, breaking, mending, several times a day.

Thanks I used to watch SNL back in the day when they didn't rely on the topics of the day like politics and more on the talent like Canadian Mike Myers, Chris Farley, Will Ferrell, David Spade, Chris Rock, Tina Fey, Darrell Hammond, Norm MacDonald, Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Dana Carvey, Chevy Chase, Jane Curtin, Billy Crystal, Phil Hartman, Jon Lovitz, Tim Meadows, Gilda Radner, Adam Sandler, and Martin Short who most I followed for comedic relief, talent and inspiration as a comedian myself now. Cohen was huge in Canada and spread his wonderful music worldwide. Just hearing though it come together like this helps, thank you for sharing.
