Something for the idiots in Congress to think about

"We maintain that a woman possessing an adequate knowledge of her reproductive functions is the best judge of the time and conditions under which her child should be brought into the world. We further maintain that it is her right, regardless of all other considerations, to determine whether she shall bear children or not, and how many children she shall bear if she chooses to become a mother.
-- Margaret Sanger"

What is wrong with these people that they want the government entirely out of regulating food safety and the EPA, but they want the government all up in one's knickers about who one marries and when/if one has children???

Because the Bible says its murder!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Very much up for debate.)

Curiously enough, they don't seem to care about the parts of the Bible that don't support *their* lifestyle.

Huh?

What's happening?

Strange. Unheimlich in the best sense of the word.

Our view of America is mostly formed by Hollywood and very few people realise how conservative and religious large parts of the population are.

I hope sanity will prevail.

Well, just as an example, you'd never see a German Chancellor go to church. I have no idea whether any of our politicians belong to any religion and nobody would think to ask.

On American TV it is always made such a big production - the President went to this or that church, the preacher is known for saying this or that... (What the fuckery??)

When I was living in PA, people who said they aren't religious still attended church regularly. Here, anybody who goes to church for anything besides Christmas, weddings and funerals is seen as very, very, very religious.

It's a cry for help. "We don't know what we're doing! Please look the other way while we make a shitload of money on stocks that are eerily close to the bills we're discussing! DISTRACTION DISTRACTION FORK DINNER PLATE OH MY GOD MY LIFE HAS NO MEANING" etc. At least, I hope it's a cry for help. I suppose it could be a last gasp.
