Date: 2014-12-08 02:12 pm (UTC)The German cookbook (you can see it here on Amazon) was given to me by elderly gentleman for whom I do book searches and act as sort of an email intermediary (he doesn't "do" computers). It's a lovely book but the recipes are fairly meat-heavy, and being a vegetarian there's not a whole lot in there for me. Each section focuses on one region, though, so that aspect was interesting. One Amazon reviewer called it more "a compendium of food culture" than a cookbook, and I think that's accurate.
