So far I've read four of Lessing's books. Shikastawas interesting, but The Fifth Child was seriously creepy and the last two -- including this one, Memoirs of a Survivor -- were like falling into someone else's very weird hallucination. I don't think I'll go looking for any more.

Lessing is very strange. I remember liking The Golden Notebook. Also The Good Terrorist. Fifth Child was super creepy. Oh, I liked Martha Quest, too. I haven't read further in that series yet.
