Yeah, Eddie Baby does display some classic abuser signs: unpredictable mood swings, tries to prevent her from seeing her friends, sabotages her car so she can't, does insensitive things and then is "oh all so sorry," stalks her when she goes out with her girlfriends, gets his sister to kidnap her while he's out of town, buys her a car she didn't want, manipulates her at every turn. Bella was just so passive. The message of the whole set of books seems to be "Got a load of crap dumped on you? Don't fight it, just have faith, and everything will magically work out right in the end." I liked Alice, she was the only one who fought back and actually DID something proactive.
