Date: 2015-08-28 10:40 am (UTC)When they're clamouring for for lunch/dinner: "This isn't Star Trek. We don't have a replicator. The microwave takes a few seconds."
When they want to go to their porch cage NOW, and I'm walking them out too slowly for their liking: "I'm getting you out there as fast as I can. This isn't Star Trek. We don't have a transporter."
So far, I have not had to employ an analogy for the tricorder, communicators, or the photon torpedos... although Max does a great imitation of a laser gun firing. I don't know where he picked that up.
