Thank you to all of you wonderful, thoughtful people who sent, posted, drew, or emailed birthday wishes! I felt very warm and fuzzy and special, and appreciate it very much *smooches*

Mother Nature gifted me with 2 feet of snow and wind chills of 20 below zero, so we stayed inside and drank mimosas made with cheap champagne and very good orange juice. A good time was had by all :)

I have no idea what the time difference between here and there is (though I should know, because [personal profile] nursedarry lives there too), so I'm just going to go ahead and post this today.

For the talented and entertaining [profile] shiv5468, because blond with peacock. Happy birthday!!

(Edit: Please note, this isn't my own work [I only wish!!]. Click the image for more info about the artwork.)

We miss you :( If I could have one wish, it would be to have seen you as Valmont in Dangerous Liaisons -- hubba hubba!!

And it sings itself "Happy birthday," all alone on Mars, which kind of makes me cry.

Still super cool, though :)

Take the day off from work and read "DM of the Rings," a very funny comic in which a long-suffering dungeon master tries to persuade Dave -- I mean Frodo -- and eight other players to stay in character as he leads them through a lengthy adventure in a strange new place called Middle Earth. I have been giggling away for an hour straight and we're not even through Moria yet. If you have ever been a DM/GM (*koff*[livejournal.com profile] tcpip*koff*), you'll find the creator's comments underneath each episode funny as hell, too -- I was particularly amused by those for Episode XIII.

"Lord of the Rings is more or less the foundation of modern D&D. The latter rose from the former, although the two are now so estranged that to reunite them would be an act of savage madness. Imagine a gaggle of modern hack-n-slash roleplayers who had somehow never been exposed to the original Tolkien mythos, and then imagine taking those players and trying to introduce them to Tolkien via a D&D campaign..."

Episode I: The Copious Backstory ==>

THANK YOU to everyone :) for the warm birthday wishes and virtual gifts, and to the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] rivertempest for the real gift of Snape's wand (yes! Snape's wand!!!) -- it is a thing of beauty and I shall cherish it.

Also, my mom sent me this. She knows me well lol.

Mr. Psmith has mentioned several times wanting a Gryffindor scarf, so a couple of weeks ago I commissioned [livejournal.com profile] irishredlass to make one (she is so talented!!) for his birthday. It arrived a couple of days ago, and although his birthday isn't until the 27th, today's forecast (18" of snow, low tonight of 8, below zero wind chill) inspired me to give it to him early. I'm glad I did so -- not only is he ridiculously happy with it/proud of it, but we have a foot of snow already and it's still coming down like nobody's business! Here he is in our back yard, resplendent in his House colors :)
